Margaret Manley

Margaret Manley has been Executive Director of PGPR since it was formed in 2004. She is a lawyer with almost twenty years experience building and managing processes to efficiently, effectively, and creatively shepherd ideas into action.

Prior to becoming PGPR’s Executive Director, Margaret was Managing Editor of the international biomedical journal, Pediatric Research, for the five years its editorial seat was at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). She was attracted to that position, from a senior position in legal publishing, by the vision and leadership of Dr. Zipursky, the opportunity to contribute to child health, and the chance to work at SickKids where she was a patient at the age of six. Her time with the journal opened Margaret’s eyes to the disparity between the research dollars being spent in high income countries and the critical research gaps that exist in low and middle income countries.

Margaret is passionate about global child health and about finding ways to facilitate collaborations focused on saving children's lives.

Margaret is a member of The Law Society of Upper Canada.
